The NCTF raises money for not for profit regional theater: Currently 10 major regional theaters are members of the NCTF. The donations support education in the arts, development of new actors, directors, writers and behind the scene professions. It gives people a chance to develop the skills needed to pursue a career in the arts. I once heard David Hyde Pearce refer to the work that the NCTF does as ensuring that the “only honest voice in America”, regional not for profit theater, continues to exist. It is sad but true that writers and directors are limited to what they can present in the arena of for Profit Theater. Their work insures that children of any background have an opportunity to be introduced to the arts.

Causes: Arts & Culture, Fund Raising & Fund Distribution
Mission: Theatre forward advances american theatre and its communities by providing funding and other resources to the countrys leading nonprofit theatres.
Programs: Theatre forward responds to our theatres needs and therefore the needs of their communities to achieve impact beyond what a single theatre can do independently. We provide funding through our sponsorship, individual, foundation and corporate fundraising, and through such events as our annual chairmans awards gala. Our theatre access programs tailored for the employees and clients of supporting companies serve thousands of theatre-goers yearly with discount ticket access and exciting inside experiences. In addition to supporting general operations for our founding member theatres, at all 19 member theatres we support two program initiatives:advancing strong theatresupports theatre productions advancing equity, diversity and inclusion (edi) goals for a targeted underserved and under-represented community that complements each theatres trajectory of organizational change. Educating through theatrebuilds and supports stronger education programs with proven outcomes that increase opportunity for more students and adults to succeed. Programs supported by theatre forward serve over 200,000 students each year.
