Once I received word of how the board of directors were treating staff members, I stopped my giving. I would advise all donors to be careful when donating to an organization that has board members who are trying to run this organization like a true business instead of realizing this is a non profit. They forced out the previous ED and hired someone with ZERO experience. Instead of having that person reach out individually to its donors, many of us just received a donation form only proving that the new ED and board sees us as ATMs.
They have had 100% turn over in their valley staff which included fundraising and operations. They hired temp. Positions for people who again had zero experience and paying them incredibly high consulting fees.
I’m truly disappointed with how the board and new staff in place handle themselves and am very alarmed with the turnover and treatment of the previous staff.

Programs: Whispering Hope Ranch, the only camp facility in Arizona designed and built expressly for those with special needs, offers campers an environment where they can: • Enjoy a fun and safe outdoor experience in an inclusive, barrier-free environment • Form lifelong friendships with others facing similar challenges • Expand their physical boundaries, increase self-esteem and confidence • Develop coping skills to sustain them through difficult times • Spend time in a place where physical disabilities or illnesses are not the exception, but the norm; where differences are not only accommodated, but celebrated. Words like "can't" or "disability" are often a part of conversations children living with medical, physical, developmental or emotional challenges have with peers, family, and doctors. Programs at WHRF help children with special needs focus on their abilities, not their disabilities. We give them the ability to ride one of our gentle horses in our adapted saddles; the ability to feel weightless in our special wheelchair swings; the ability to participate in sports they often have to watch from the sidelines; the ability to change their narrative from, "I can't" to "I can!" Importantly, we give campers the ability to cope…the ability to hope.
