Mission: The mission of the american chesterton society is to promote the writings of the english writer gilbert keith chesterton. It wants to encourage scholarship, aid in research, and be a resource for scholars on chesterton's writings. Most significant activities are conferences, research, public web-site, sale of related chesterton merchandise including books, magazines, media programs, and publication of books by or about the writer g. K. Chesterton.
Programs: National conference: over 300 attendees each year. Great educational resource. Generates enthusiasm and provides a forum for discussion, stimulating exchange of ideas and educational opportunities.
production media and publishing: producing materials for audio visual media on or about works by g. K. Chesterton. Pubhishing of related writings by and about g. K. Chesterton. We have made available writings that were previously out of print and have produced plays, movies and audio books on and about the writings and the life of author g. K. Chesterton. Our organization also publishes gilbert magazine which publishes chesterton material and is a forum of exchange of ideas on this author.
lecture series and educational support: our organization sponsors speakers at colleges and universities and organizes trips and other travel opportunities related to research and education on the writer g. K. Chesterton.
