Sara‘s unique approach to equine therapy is awe-inspiring. As a combat veteran with PTSD, working with wild mustangs who’ve experienced trauma brings a commonality and understanding that other types of therapies do not provide. Watching Sara work with horses to gain their trust as well as being a source of comfort for them, and then witnessing the profound effect it has in real time has helped me in a way I didn’t think possible. Her approach of bridging the gap between her own expectations and where the horse is has helped me apply that to myself for my own recovery. Learning to communicate with the horse in a way it understands by using body language and intent allows a connection and conversation with these majestic mustangs that has helped me change my perspective, empowering me to move forward in my own healing. I recommend this to anyone (especially veterans) who have had difficulty finding a therapy that works for them.

I met Sarah and found out about RIDE through a mutual friend January of 2021. Soon after, I got a horse and asked Sarah to train us. She did and he is a completely different horse. He's so much happier and challenged. I can't thank Sarah enough. She taught me natural horsemanship, which before meeting her I didn't know existed, and it makes so much sense. It can be transferred into so many aspects of life and I love the "therapy" it provides. I love volunteering with RIDE and will not leave anytime soon! I fully believe in what they are doing and love working with everyone.
