Causes: Charter Schools, Education
Mission: The mission of the goodwill excel center mid-south is to provide adults 18 and older the opportunity and support to earn a high school diploma and begin post-secondary education while developing career paths in sectors of the local economy that offer better-than-average employment and growth opportunities. The school will "meet students where they are" in their education by providing a flexible structure and supportive relationships to help them manage work, life, and family concerns as they achieve their educational goals.
Programs: The excel center works with adults 18 and older who want to earn a high school diploma. Traditional barriers to achieving a diploma include: 1) child care, 2) transportation and resources to access transportation and 3) economic, social or family issues. The excel center model provides students with up to 4 hours of free child care, bus passes and a life coach.
