Mission: The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, founded in 1897, promotes individual and community growth through music. By providing subsidized lessons, classes and concerts in the community, the Conservatory makes music accessible to people of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. With two locations, in Brooklyn and Flushing, Queens, the Conservatory offers instruction in classical, jazz, and world music. In addition, the Conservatory has programs in 15 schools, 6 youth centers, and 2 senior centers in the community, offering children and seniors music classes who would otherwise not have that as part of their day. The Conservatory also offers free and low-cost concerts.
