In 2017, we introduced renovated search and menu features for easier navigation and making content easier to explore and share-leading to 1. 2 million visits and 800,000 users, including a 20% increase in students! Scientists, pastors, educators, and students all engage in our thriving online community, as forum participation grew by 22%. Online reach goes beyond biologos. public engagement:the 2017 conference highlighted presentations by 13 members of our speakers bureau, biologos voices, during plenaries and breakout sessions. In its first year, thousands of people learned about science and faith through the voices program as our speakers traveled to over 100 universities, churches, and conferences across the country. From biology and astronomy to philosophy and the bible, leading biologos communicators demonstrated not only their excellent scholarship but personal christian faith and commitment to humble dialogue. scholar conversations:in 2017, biologos brought together a small group of leading scholars to address the question, "what does it mean to be human in light of modern science and christian theology? " scholars from evolutionary biology, theology, neuroscience, biblical studies, anthropology, and philosophy all shared the latest work from their fields, leading to a rich interdisciplinary discussion. This scholarship is now informing biologos' content, as we proclaim that god created humankind in his image and discuss the implications in light of common ancestry with animals and advances in biomedical research such as genetic engineering.
