I can't say enough about Tanners PAWS. I went in with my granddaughter, to look at the dogs and see what else they had! We found out they have kittens too, which my granddaughter got so excited! They let us go in and sit with the kittens. There was only one dog that day, for he was waiting to go for heart surgery! He was was there, w

They wanted to make sure he was safe and not left home alone, before the surgery! They place was so busy, with the phone ringing off the hook! The volunteers treated us so kind and answered any question my granddaughter had! I would give them a 5 star rating and will definitely go back!

This place is not compassionate or caring towards animals. I took in 5 kittens I found abandoned.. There were 7 but 2 had died. I am allergic as is my special needs son. Christy says "we are full don't know what to tell you" I told her I would have to take them back to the woods/lake I found them and she said "if that's what you need to do"and walked away. Didn't offer to call other places to see if they had room. Didnt apologize.. Was not sympathetic or compassionate in the least. A stranger in the waiting room told me to try Elmira SPCA. I took them there and although they didn't have room either they still took them in. They also said its the second time in a week someone has come in who has been mistreated at tanners paws. I spoke with the director himself who apologized to me for the way they treated me. They apparently are notorious for their vile treatment of people. Christy is anyway. She is a nasty human being. Even doing her shows in the morning with the adoptable pets she is miserable. I personally know 3 other people who have dealt with her less than friendly attitude. I was astounded she just didn't care about these kittens. They must have been maybe 5 weeks.. If I had taken them back where I found them as she told me to do the wild animals would have gotten them. I get it if u don't have room but to not even help look for other organizations that might and rather tell me to abandon them yet again.... OMG! I will never do business there and I will be sure to post of my experience every place I can. Their reputation according to 2 other SPCA organizations is not good. Please utilize your SPCA first. Places that truly care are would not condone pet abandonment!

Hi Krista. Christie did in fact state that we were full but did not at one point state that she didn’t know what to tell you. You stated that you were going to release them back into the Wild and at that point, the comment was made that if that’s something you had to do then it was on you as unfortunately, saying things like that does not miraculously open up available space in our all-volunteer organization. Not at one point did we ever recommend releasing them back to where you found them.. you told us that’s what you were going to do. We are happy that you were able to get assistance with the SPCA as they do have quite a few paid staff and we do not. We encourage everyone to watch the live videos on Tuesday mornings as it’s evident that Christie is not miserable by any means and this story is highly exaggerated.
I have been an avid donor to this organization. I support their purpose and what they do for animals. However, given the manner in which the volunteers have acted over the past few days, I no longer wish to have my name affiliated with this organization. The unprofessional manner in which members of the board of directors speaks is appalling. I encourage others to do research when deciding on an organization to donate to or affialiate themselves with.

Hello. We are sorry that you feel this way. It’s very unfortunate when other members of other rescues feel the need to bash each other in an attempt to recruit donors.
