Mission: Spirit animal sanctuary is a not-for-profit facility that provides food, water, housing, emergency medical care, regular veterinary care, enrichment and ongoing behavior modification training for approximately 100 behaviorally or medically challenged dogs in our care. The sanctuary also offered canine behavior advice through blogs and over 100 email consultations. These programs are aimed to further the general understanding of the inherited behavior of dogs. We are special - we provide a "home for life" for unadoptable dogs. We must make sure that the dogs we save will have a life worth living. Dogs are social pack animals - they never do well in solitary kennel environments. We have provided a space that ensures their optimum happiness. The sanctuary is committed to making each dog's life as free and happy as possible - a life worth living. The sanctuary raises funds for sanctuary purposes through foundations and private donations.

To provide our dogs with a safe and least restrictive environment, the sanctuary heated and ventilated a 12,480 cubic square foot building. The sanctuary knows that no dog thrives in a kennel situation. The dogs at the sanctuary live in compatible packs. Each pack can exit their living quarters thru doggy doors. The doors open to extremely large grassy play areas. The sanctuary is a home for life. The sanctuary is committed to making each dog's life as free and happy as possible - a life worth living. We have a "big dog house" that houses the dogs that are cared for by spirit animal sanctuary. The "big dog house" provides the essential ammenities for the dogs to live comfortably. We have a system of kennels that house packs of 8-10. All kennels have several doggy doors that open into 300ft long by 150ft wide grass runs. That is freedom - lots of room to run and play with your doggy buddies and access to the outdoors at all times. Spirit animal sanctuary has a walk-in freezer to store the donated meat received for the dogs. Our storage barn provides much needed shelter for our ancient tractors, mowing and snow moving equipment. We care for approximately 100 dogs on a daily basis - these assets make our workdays more efficient. We are happy in the knowledge that we are truly providing our very special dogs with a life that, in every way, is worth living. We continue, through blogs and videos, to educate the public about dog behavior. We hope this knowledge will help to promote a strong, compassionate, intelligent human to canine bond. We continue to support spay and neuter clinics and all programs that enhance a dog's life.
