Mission: Founded in 1981 as a non-profit organization, Southwest Human Development provides comprehensive services to young children and their families in five primary areas: child health and development, disabilities services, Head Start, early literacy and training for early childhood professionals. Southwest is the state's largest community-based organization of its type, serving 135,000 children and families each year. In 2007, Southwest Human Development became the Easter Seals affiliate for central and northern Arizona. Southwest was chosen in large part because of its reputation for high-quality services. Southwest's commitment to excellence and dedication to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities mirror that of Easter Seals.
