Nonprofit Overview
Mission: The mission of the South Central Assembly for Effective Governance is to enhance the quality of life in South Central Pennsylvania citizens by improving governance in the region: by encouraging cooperation among governmental entities; by fostering public-private partnerships and by collaborating with other non-governmental organization; by developing and facilitiating the reduction of sprawl, all to make governance more effective and economical. The Assembly examines new and innovative ways to deliver local governmental services, including those concerning planning for land use and transportation, and legislation; and recommends improvments including cooperation among governmental entities and sharing agreements, as well as cooperation between the public and private sectors and with other non-governmental organizations. The Assembly is a major regional entity focused on the broad scope of regional quality of life concerns in South Central Pennsylvania.
