Sofia's Helping Hand helped my daughter going through a tough time getting diagnosed with EDS. She would not do her blood work and Sofia called her on video while she got her blood work done to show her it was OK. She then sent her a package telling her how brave she was. After her diagnosis my daughter was added to the mailing list where she got a zebra and other packages of encouragement over the past couple of years. This organization is amazing and to believe such a young girl runs it and is so personal is just incredible.
My daughter was diagnosed with hEDS, and I stumbled upon Sofias organization. She’s received so much support one year her artwork was entered into Sofias calendar. We also joined them in the victory walk for the Marfan organization. They sent us a goodie bag full of things to entertain my days when she’s at doctor’s appointments. She’s a wonder person with a supportive family. I wish her all the best and I’m so thankful that she created a platform for other children with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome to find support and community.
An absolutely amazing nonprofit. Sofia and her family work tirelessly to help kids all over the world with rare diseases. They let kids know that they are seen and not alone, and that is so incredibly important. Keep up the great work, Sofia!
I am 13 and I volunteered with Sofia at one of her events to raise money for research. I got to help hand out gift bags to kids with disorders. All the kids came up to her and she hugged and talked to them all. She got a heart zebra painted on her face and then all the kids wanted one too. I really hope I can do more hours with Sofia and I can help more kids like she does. She seems to be everyone's big sister.
We found Sofias Helping Hand when they were just getting started and we were still figuring out a diagnosis. To say they have been helpful is an understatement. They brought so much hope and kindness into our lives and we are so grateful to them! We have loved having lemonade stands to help raise money and then helping decide what to do with it! Sofia has become a role model for both of my kids and Amanda has become a friend and confidant through the trials of EDS. So so thankful for them!
Sofia is my daughter and I am beyond inspired by her determination to help children with illnesses be supported and heard. When she came to her father and I to ask to start the organization we could have never imagined how far she would go. 3 years later and she is in 7 countries and has supplied support and needed items to thousands of children along with raising over $20,000 in medical research. She continues to grow and strive to make a difference to those suffering illness.
