Sisters of the Sea is near and dear to my heart. I was so happy to join this club, in the very beginning and make many lasting friendships and always having another girl to surf with. I've learned a lot in and out of the water from my Sisters.
When the club decided to start doing the all girl surf contests and change to a non profit. I had to get on board. I have participated, witnessed and volunteered over 20 years for this organization. I've seen and heard from so many people who have also benefited from it.

I found Sisters of the Sea when I was 17 - back before there was a ton of women surfers in the water . The ladies in this group were so inspiring with all their surf travel and surf competition stories . I’m the only surfer in the family so to meet others that shared the same stoke for surfing was amazing - I had met my tribe . I’m still close friends with many original Sisters of the Sea crew now 25 ish years later . Great group of gals - now inspiring a younger generation through there Sisters of the Sea Surf Classic, beach cleanups and Sisters and (cancer ) Survivors surf camp event . My daughter and her friends look forward to the next SOS surf contest . I highly recommend this group ❤️

I have been involved with Sisters of the Sea for the better part of 20 years. This all female organization does such a great job of bringing generations of women and girls together to learn from each other and give back to our community. Over the last several years, my daughter and I have been fortunate to participate in beach clean-ups, surf meet-ups, the annual surf contest and more! SOS also partners with local businesses and organizations to bring the broader community together around the love of surfing! Everyone is so friendly and caring! I think that's a big part of what has kept the organization around for more than 20 years!

Sam and company at Sisters of the Sea are passionate about helping their community. As a 2x breast cancer survivor, I've benefited from their outreach. Their offering a free, safe, encouraging environment for me to attempt surfing helped me realize having cancer wasn't the end for me. There are still plenty of new and exciting things to live for, and people that care about seeing me thrive, not just survive. Their fund raising efforts have also helped another local non-profit, In The Pink, that helps meet the needs of those dealing with cancer. It's not just about big surf for them, it's big hearts and helping hands. Love you gals! Thank you.

I cannot even begin to tell you how much our family loves Sisters of the Sea! This group has been instrumental in encouraging a healthy love of surfing within our community and it is incredible to see their dedication in action.

Thank you to Sisters of the Sea for being such an involved part of the Beaches communities and contributing to the self esteem of all the people who have the opportunity to be a part of your events. To anyone out there looking for a way to get involved in the surfing community and encourage positivity in your children's lives - this is a great non profit to join!

I have been inspired by sisters of the sea and their dedication to empowering women in surfing and beyond. Samantha ryan has made it her mission to connect with like-minded groups and drive up the mission of women in surfing and nature! Their 2 events (surf contest & sisters & survivors) give women an opportunity to lead, grow and bond over their love for the ocean. They are very active in partnering with environmental groups like Beaches Go Green and First Coast Surfrider. They also partner with the women’s center of Jacksonville and In the Pink where they support breast cancer patients & survivors with proceeds from their events! They have been putting good vibes into our beach community for over 20 years!!!!

What a wonderful organization! The positive energy on the beach and in the water creates an amazing feeling of sisterhood and stoke. The contest is a celebration of female surfing and their philanthropy in support of cancer survivors is admirable. I love helping this organization share the surf stoke!

Alright, so the 12 there was a surf competition. We were rained out after about 3 hours. Someone from this company told us to come back the next day and everything would resume on schedule at 9 a.m. .My wife and grandchildren were with me,we came with 4 other families around 7:45 , made it on the beach at 8:03 a.m., and were told " It's over, you're too late". After speaking with a woman from this organization named " Valerie" , she started we got there late and all the competitors have already been chosen. She was a very disrespectful, pushy type of person. Now,I'm not sure who said what to make the competition start again,, but what I do know,is both of my grandchildren were crying because this woman said it was over, when in actuality she didn't want to do the competition.
There was also mention of a Surf Board, designed by a local board shaper at the beach. We we're ALL told, the winner would receive that surfboard, but come to find out,it was sold at a bar- Lynch's- for whatever reason.
So,whoever runs this " Organization" , I'm not the only person who witnessed ALL the disappointment,,I'm not the only person who witnessed alcohol being consumed at a " Charity surf event" ,. Now,I want to know where the money went that we donated on Saturday. The authorities will be made aware of this.

I just want to say this group is a fraud. All of the "adults" who were supposed to be in charge of their Sept 12th event were either drunk or high, stumbling and falling in the streets. I'm very disappointed and they will be reported. I dont recommend anyone use this organization in the future!

I volunteered to help with Their event. Every one was Drunk or on some type of Drug!! They even had a guy out there trying to raise money for Veterans, and he spent it on alcohol!!! I dont know who runs this organization But I feel it is a Fraud, and I will be contacting the authorities about this entire Group.
