ASVEF is truly performing to the mark of their mission, in reducing the achievement gap of underserved students by empowering them with the tools and competencies to overcome their barriers to college.

Its amazing to see how ASVEF is helping these students get ahead and overcome obstacles to their education, thus closing the achievement gap. Furthermore, it also plays a significant role in building much needed skills, knowledge, and confidence that students from underrepresented backgrounds need to succeed in college-track courses and ultimately in their life.

Regarding my contributions , I help organize supplies and materials for the summer program and had a great opportunity to volunteer as College & Career guest speaker in classrooms to model an attitude that encourages students to look toward academic success and attending college.

Its truly an honor to be associated with this organization which is making an impact that matters to our society and to our future!

My experience with the Silicon Valley Education Foundation can only be described as positive in every which way! Whether you are speaking about the organization, the summer program, the support, or the follow through, the level of professionalism and academic rigor cannot be matched. I have worked with this program for the last three years in the Elevate Math Summer Program. I have seen students come out of their shells and learn to speak and experience math. I have witnessed teachers take risks and open avenues in their understanding of the curriculum that go beyond the summer months and into what they do every day in the academic year. I have felt the constant support and guidance of the leadership team of the foundation and have been challenged by the leadership opportunities I have been offered. The Silicon Valley Education Foundation has been a blessing for our district. It has been the backbone of our summer program and, in many ways, a resource and professional development opportunity for many of our teachers. The foundation is a valuable asset to math instruction and faithfulness to Common Core principles. I have only high praise for the leadership of the foundation who provide the vision, for the people in the office every day who offer support and guidance, and the many volunteers who participate actively in the endeavors of the foundation.
