Mission: Shrishti (facebook: shrishti school of performing arts , instagram:shrishtischool) shrishti school of performing arts is an organization dedicated to - preserving and promoting traditional art forms from the indian sub-continent through the idiom of classical dance and music - enriching the awareness about the rich indian tradition through various concerts, community activities, and lecture demonstrations - serving as an educational and cultural resource of indian art for the global audience in the united states - creating a platform to educate, exhibit and share knowledge about indian classical dance and music - fostering excellence in technical performance through a comprehensive unique curriculum and creating innovative group productions based on social welfare themes "shrishti" aspires to serve both indian and american communities to help forge a greater understanding of the cultural impact of arts.
Programs: February 2017 - nritya seva - on shivratri, students of shrishti performed in torrence, ca for an audience of 200 people to raise awareness of the art form
may 5th, 2017: fund raiser to benefit to shiksha, education of children in rural areas, las vegas, nv
april 21st 2017: community discourse on humanity: shrishti students performed for an audience of 70 people during the inauguration of the event. This helped spread the art form locally in irvine, ca
quarterly talent meet: june 19th, 2017: shrishti had a talent meet to showcase dance and classical indian music for an audience of 250 people in irvine, ca
june 17, 2017: quarterly concert at shivakameshwari temple and irvine mandir. This was a well attended event that was attended by the indian american community of orange county. Helped raise awareness about the art and culture of indian dance
aug 26th, 2017: arangetram of mounika thiruvaipati: this was attended by 300+ audience in orange county and was open to the public
samarpan: sept 2nd: a solo recital by founder, charulatha jayaraman, was attended by 400+ people
arangratram of ria achutan: sept 9th, 2017: debut performance of ria was attended by a total of 400+ indian american community
sept 16th, 2017: arangetram of srinithi siva: a debut performance open to the public that was attended by around 200 people
sept 4th: annual day receital , featuring 65 students and a unique dance drama presentation called "kurtrala kuravanji" by artistic director, charulatha jayaraman and students. The poetry was written in 1720
sept. 23rd, 2017: arangetram of harshini and varshini: this was a 2 member dance performance targeted at the indian american audience in orange county. This was open to the public.
sept 24th, 2017, solo festival, sampavana: by 4 senior students of shristi, was open to the public and done at the irvine community center, in quail hill, irvine, ca. This is a platform for students who have completed their debut performance to further their commitment to dance.
oct 21st, 2017: antaram: featuring 4 stalwarts of classical indian dance from india. This was a ticketed event, attended by 325 people including american and indian american communities in los angeles and orange county
dec 3rd, 2017: recital by hansika sunderasan: a fund raiser for u-turn lives benefiting the homeless in orange county. This raised more than $5000 for the noble cause
dec 20th. 2017: shrishti quarterly talent show: performances by students of shrishti to exhibit their talents to parents, friends and family
dec 28th and dec 29th: shrishti students, srilatha srinivasan and ananya sunderasan were invited to perform at prestigious locations and events in india
jan 14th, 2017: pongal celebrations: a very important event and festival for the indian american community and was celebrated with shrishti's dance performance. This helped preserve the ancient tradition and art form
