Results: A Rich History of Empowering Youth ​ Welcome to the SHIELD Mentor Program, a nonprofit youth-serving organization dedicated to empowering young individuals between the ages of 9 and 18 in Guilford County and the surrounding areas. Making a Positive Impact in Our Community ​ The SHIELD Mentor Program has a rich history of serving the youth in Guilford County and the surrounding areas. Since our establishment in 2008, we have been deeply committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals within our community. Our in-person mentoring experiences allow us to directly engage with youth in Guilford County, fostering meaningful connections and providing invaluable guidance. ​ Tailored Mentoring Programs for Every Child ​ We recognize that every child is unique, and that's why our mentoring programs are tailored to meet the specific needs and aspirations of young individuals. Through our in-person initiatives, we create a safe and nurturing environment where young minds can flourish. Our dedicated mentors are carefully matched with mentees, ensuring a supportive and personalized experience for each participant. Together, they engage in character-building activities, leadership development exercises, and educational resources, all designed to empower youth to reach their full potential. ​ Expanding Our Reach with Online Mentoring ​ In addition to our in-person programs, we are excited to offer online mentoring experiences. We understand that life can be busy and that distance can sometimes pose challenges. That's why we have expanded our reach to provide accessible support through virtual platforms. Our online mentoring sessions enable us to connect with youth in Guilford County and the surrounding areas, regardless of their physical location. Through video calls, interactive workshops, and online resources, we ensure that young individuals can benefit from our programs from the comfort of their own homes. ​ Strong Community Partnerships for Lasting Impact ​ At the SHIELD Mentor Program, we take pride in our strong community partnerships. We actively collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community leaders to enhance the impact of our programs. Geographic areas served: Nationwide in the US

Programs: The SHIELD Saturday Leadership Academy, a 12-week leadership intensive program to bring together parents, youth, and families that are interested in strengthening and empowering a strong community. Together, youth and adult volunteers participate in interactive workshops, team-building exercises, leadership development, and focus on a specific theme, such as goal setting, decision making, conflict resolution, effective communication, and teamwork. The youth mentoring program allows youth to develop a personal plan for success through fun, interactive learning sessions with peers.
