Mission: Seeds for Hope, Inc. (SFH) is a charitable Christian development organization dedicated to serving the needs of the poor and sick in Africa. Our mission is realized through programs and services that promote sustainable development and improve the quality of living by addressing the root causes of poverty, including but not limited to:
- Economic Development
- HIV/AIDS Prevention and Support
- Education
- Public Health
- Disaster Relief
- Faith Based Programming
SFH functions with the intended purpose of breaking the cycle of poverty. We are committed to improving the lives of the poor by providing them with opportunities that ensure their growth and holistic development.
HOW WE WORK:
Human Capacity Building: Our strategy is to equip people with the means to overcome poverty and provide them with the tools they need to overcome poverty for the long term. This is what makes our organization different from other charities that focus on delivering immediate and short-term solutions to poverty. We work though:
Local Church Partnerships: SFH recognizes the necessity of delivering material and spiritual support together to support the development of the body, mind and soul. Our approach to reaching and identifying communities in need is through partnerships with Churches. SFH also recognizes that churches play an important role in African communities:
- As a cornerstone of social networks.
- As experts who knows the needs of their congregations and help identify those most in need of assistance.
- As a source of consistency having an ongoing presence in the community providing insight to tribe/culture, personality, politics, and poverty.
Holistic Programs: Our programs consider the physical, emotional and spiritual development of our beneficiaries. Likewise, our approach to development addresses multiple factors that cause and perpetuate poverty together, increasing the likelihood of sustained success.
Christ Centered Leadership: We bear witness to the Gospel through this service following the example of Christ and biblical teaching. We are committed to prayer and biblical study to direct our decisions and operations. We reserve days for corporate prayer and fasting for the needs of this ministry and those who we serve
Working in international development, I see large problems coupled with large solutions. Seeds for Hope is an organization that uses innovative and evidence based best practices to creatively solve complicated and delicate issues in this area of Kenya. They problem solve through music, art, writing and education to change the reality for many young Kenyans. I am proud to be involved with this transparent and solutions oriented organization.
Seeds for Hope is one of my organizations of choice that I support. I know one of the board members of Seeds for Hope who has served there for many years. She has such great passion for her work and mission, it's truly inspiring!
We held a bake sale to raise money for the organization and I have no doubt that every penny went to great use for the organization.
We are a small and focused non-profit that is making real impact in the lives of disadvantaged youth in Kenya! A 100% volunteer run organization where nearly all of the funding goes directly into programs. Our approaches and holistic and based on cultivating community owned change through education and capacity development
I saw many kids had been educated and followed up for their needs through SEEDS FOR HOPE. The organization had been assessing many orphans cases, help them in their education , follow their scores and grades in their schools.
