Mission: Save the Wild Chinchillas, founded in 1998, grew out of the need to protect an endangered species in their native land, Chile. The population is now estimated between 1000 to 3000 animals left. Amy Deane founded this organization and has dedicated her life to the protection of this species. She has educated many, she has planted many ha of special vegetation, she has created a nursery and she has not received a penny for herself since starting the organization. Most recently, she has made an agreement to protect 200 ha in exchange for giving the local residents fodder for their herds. This is helping protect our biodiversity! Save the Wild Chinchillas, Inc is a U.S. based entity for education, habitat restoration and environmental conservation of endangered species.
