Sanchez Art Center

Programs: Exhibitions were held showcasing the work of emerging and established west coast contemporary artists, community art groups including including students, educators, and visual artists in multiple mediums. All shows are offered free to the general public. Estimated attendance of 5,800 during gallery hours. Special hours arranged for school groups, organizations, and the community at-large hosted another 143 individuals.

"sanchez goes to school" project provides a credentialed instructor/artist who provides 12 vapa (visual and performing arts) standards lessons during the school day to 560 students in a local elementary school. Additional kids camps held over the summer and school breaks provided arts education to an additional 93 youths. Provided art opportunities and education to 318 individuals of all ages who attended 7 artist and juror talks and lectures. Additional on-site activities included open studios, artists gatherings, family art activities, civic meetings, and a celebration of the sanchez art center's anniversary, engaging another 722 community members. Offsite activities included coordination and staffing of the pacific coast fog fest photography contest, showcasing the work of 45 artist photographers. The event draws more than 65,000 attendees to pacifica. Art activity booths for the community at the pacifica beach coalition earth day eco fest and the chamber of commerce tree lighting reached out to an additional 3,650.
