I cannot say enough about this wonderful organization! For starters they have such a generous & BIG heart. Most recent we connected with them through friends to a theme park trip that they had organized. It was AMAZING!! I was so happy to meet new families & reconnect with familiar faces. It was truly a wonderful day. Thank You for all that you do! You are all TRULY heaven sent.

SDDS has continued to provide wonderful opportunities to families for enriching activities, connecting with the special needs community, providing resources and information and promoting acceptance and awareness. We have gained do much emotionally and spiritually from the events they have provided. They generously do not charge for events and provide opportunities for building family memories and meeting new friends.

Our family had a wonderful experience with this organization. We were able to enjoy a special family trip to LEGOLAND with our boys, age 10 and 1. Our 10 year old has Aspergers/ADHD and our 1 year old has Down Syndrome. It was such a great day and brought together special families to create memories together. The event was well organized and all information was provided in a timely and concise manner. We had a very positive experience and will recommend this organization to other special needs families!!

I was struggling with my daughter and trying to learn how to go about getting a dual-diagnosis of DS-ASD and founder John Leslie was a tremendous help. So much so that after many long chats by phone and finding the resources I needed, feeling cheered by his enthusiasm and highly positive attitude, I actually joined the board of directors to help the organization grow and thrive.

I am very impressed with the overwhelming success the organization has had so far due in huge part to John's tireless efforts to help families. This organization makes everything personable like "one big family" which is hard to find these days.

I've met other families and rejoiced in the connections, however brief and transient. We all have one major thing in common and it really is a connector...DS. (You know what I mean! LOL)

Since joining, my family has had several wonderful outings to go on with the group and each time it was simply delightful. Our family and guests were thrilled with the events, too, and felt connected to everyone else present, too, by our love for our children with DS. The community is strong and it is an honor to be a part of it.

I recently found out about this organization and as a result my family and I were able to enjoy a sponsored trip to a theme park. Everyone had a blast and it was the first time our son, with down syndrome, got to experience going on roller coasters and other rides. He was thrilled! We got to meet many other families and it is very inspiring and admirable to see all the efforts SDDS puts in to help the countless amounts of families that they do! I'm looking forward to see what plans they have for the future.

I love how our special little children are recognized and their siblings. I love how all the families come together because of SDDS. I believe when we all come together with our special children, more than conversations are created at the events; but more relationships are building. And when relationships build, our community is educated and shared. I love SDDS! Thank you for your wonderful support!

A year ago our seventh child was born with Down syndrome. While she has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives, this has been a hard year for all of us. When I saw that there was this great organization working on our behalf, it encouraged me so much. Our family was recently able to attend an event at Legoland through Special Heroes. It was just the thing we needed - a dream vacation and a way to celebrate our girl and her extra chromosome. Thank you so much, John, for all the work you do!

I am grateful to this organization for all the hard work & dedication put into our families of children with Down Syndrome. From fund raisers to theme park family days out to holiday parties for our children, and the leaders being parents of children with Down Syndrome as well, it is so inspiring and selfless to be of service to the community over and above immediate neighbors! We look forward to participating & growing with this community for years to come!

I am a single Mom with 4 children that I have adopted. SDDS.org has helped me at Christmas time when I could not afford the Vetec computer for my son with Down Syndrome. He loves it and plays the games and uses the camera and video camera on it. It was so nice of them to help me. I love the support and friendly people to be able to share problems, issues or just laughs and pictures with. No one can serve you better than someone in your same shoes. We have all been blessed to have a Down Syndrome angel and it's nice to have others to enjoy the journey with.

San Diego Down Syndrome has been a project my husband, John, has thought about for a long time. Who knew it would take off the way it has in just a few months. We have two children ourselves, with Down Syndrome, Noah and Genev'e, and feel privileged, in some way, to reach out to other families. As our mission is to see other families thrive, we'd in turn like to get feedback from all of you and know you're helping by spreading the word about this non-profit organization that is still in it's infancy and hoping to thrive as well.

San Diego Down Syndrome . org is such a wonderful organization! I am very glad that I found out about it! I may not live in the area, but I have been able to take part in a few of the outings that they have provided through this organization. It gave my family an opportunity to visit some theme parks in the area, when financially it would not have been feasible. They post many useful links and information, as well as uplifting stories to help families out who may have some concerns about their special need child. I am very thankful that John started this organization, and it especially means a lot because he has such a heart for children and he knows right where I am coming from! Thank you.

San Diego Down Syndrome . Org is an amazing nonprofit. My daughter has Down syndrome, and we are so grateful this organization was created to help families like ours. We were donated a lovely piece of equipment in a time of need and financial stress. And we have enjoyed a wonderful group outing, with other families with children with Down syndrome. Also I personally know of a few other families, who have greatly benefited, from the generosity of San Diego Down Syndrome

I have seen such joy and satisfaction in those families with special needs children that SDDS has interacted with; great care and thoughtfulness is taken in order to be a blessing to each individual family. I am definitely going to be involved with this nonprofit for as long as I can be of service.

San Diego Down Syndrome has been there for us more then once as parents of a six year old with Down syndrome. They have helped us financially, they have provided fun family outings (like Legoland & Sea World), they have educated us & more then that they have been THE "Go to" organization for us more then once. Having a child with Down syndrome has turned out to be a blessing but no one is equipped on their own to raise a child with special needs. The saying is, "It takes a village" is far more true in the special needs community & San Diego Down Syndrome has welcomed us with open arms into this village & made it an even better place! We are grateful for them!

I was amazed to learn that there is a group such at San Diego Down Syndrome that is there not only to support individuals with down syndrome but to support the whole entire family. My 4 year old has down syndrome and even though i wouldn't change anything in the world to make him any different as he is a blessing from God, I know there will be struggles and questions as my son grows up. San Diego Down Sydrome has helped to make the process smoother by learning that we are not alone and that by each others support our children will have a thriving life.
