Mission: Salisbury zoo commission, inc. Is a nonprofit organization whose policy is to ensure that the salisbury zoological park provides a balanced program of education, conservation and recreation.
Programs: Maintenance and upkeep of the zoo grounds and inhabitants. The salisbury zoo is one of only a few small zoos accredited by (aza) the association of zoos and aquariums.
zoo education program-to provide better public awareness of the zoo through tours, demonstrations, programs and lectures at the zoo and in the community. The zoo commission funded the education department that provides wildlife educational programs annually to over 20,000 students from the delmarva peninsula.
zoo conservation department-to promote animal conservation and wildlife protection. The salisbury zoo commission raises over $1,000 yearly to contribute to other animal conservation programs.
