Room One

Programs: One stop support center (ossc):our ossc provides targeted, integrated services as close to home as possible to support the whole person and their needs across their lifespan. Through partners and in-house staff, the ossc offers numerous core social and health services to ensure our neighbors have access to the resources they need most, including access to health insurance navigators; women infant and childrens nutrition programming; full-time domestic violence, health resource, and youth and family advocates; low-income housing information and applications; support groups and mental health counseling, and more. The ossc serves as our main conduit for identifying unmet needs in our community and directly informs our initiatives and programmatic strategies, including affordable childcare, housing, and living wage jobs.

okanogan healthy youth (ohy): funded through a 5-year federal grant, ohy is set up to significantly reduce teen pregnancy rates through evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention education programs in multiple settings among populations with greatest need. In 2017 we supported five school districts in implementing comprehensive sexual health education through class instruction, teacher training, and policy development; worked with health clinics to deliver teen-friendly services; facilitated weekly girls group in juvenile detention; and began organizing county leaders to address the underlying causes of teen pregnancy, including youth homelessness. This work is tailored specifically to each community through the leadership of both a community advisory group and youth leadership council convened by room one.
