Mission: Providing a temporary "home-away-from-home" that serves and sustains families of seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment at area hospitals, as well as providing support to other programs that assist children in our community. Children heal faster and cope better when surrounded by their loved ones.
Programs: Ronald mcdonald house charities (rmhc) of the intermountain area positively impacted the lives of 11,677 pediatric patient families in 2017. During the year, rmhc provided for 21,448 overnight stays for 3,935 patient families (12,938 individuals) at our ronald mcdonald house, and welcomed 5,594 families (11,098 individuals) for 91,577 visits to our ronald mcdonald family room in primary children's hospital. In 2017 rmhc launched new hospitality carts within shriners hospital for children and ogden regional medical center to offer 2,148 pediatric patient families free respite items. Continued on schedule o rmhc also opened a new 2nd floor ronald mcdonald family room within primary children's hospital with four overnight sleeping rooms and respite space to serve families with patients in the pediatric icu, cardiac icu and neuro-trauma unit. Volunteer groups prepared and served 1,180 free meals for thousands of guest families within our ronald mcdonald house and ronald mcdonald family room. Rmhc offered five daily shuttles to and from partner hospitals, on-site laundry, play room, fitness and theatre rooms, along with hundreds of guest-centered events, resources and activities to help keep families close to their seriously ill or injured children being treated at local hospitals. With strong community support, rmhc surrounds families with the support they need to be near and care for their seriously ill and injured children.
