Mission: The mission of the Ride for CHANGE Ride for HOPE Foundation is to empower and engage the motorcycle community; to develop, expand and support programs and organizations that encourage social and cultural reconciliation through awareness, education, civic engagement, economic and workforce development. The foundation seeks to raise funds, awareness and increase volunteerism to support nonprofit interest, organizations and charitable causes throughout the nation and gives priority to initiatives that impact the ability of at-risk-youth to develop their potential. It seeks to help reconcile issues plaguing the community by reconciling the images placed upon society. Ride for CHANGE Ride for HOPE Foundation is a model of service coordination and the motorcycle community’s principle advocate for disadvantaged youth and other cause-related initiatives.
Results: To date we have visited several college campuses to solicit direction and support. At the invitation of the executive director of the White House executive order, “Educational Excellence for African-Americans” our founder made an appeal at the White House Conference on Historically Black Colleges and Universities to aid efforts to implement a strategy to alleviate inner-cultural differences to create the synergy to steer more youth toward historically black colleges and universities. We produced our first World of Soul College Fair/HBCU Expo at St. Sabina Church. We have received commitments to aid the production of the Ride for CHANGE Ride for HOPE College Tour featuring historically black colleges and universities A unique Work Force Development program has been developed for implementation in Chicago area high schools pending approval. Motorcycle dealers have become engaged with a reward system as an incentive for motorcyclists to receive recognition for their support.
Target demographics: Urban at-risk-youth and the motorcycle community to produce models of service coordination for national distribution and implementation within the World of Soul Motorcycle Community.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Restructure the framework of Ride for CHANGE RIde for HOPE and how it's produced in local cities, connected 200 students and their parents with 16 colleges and universities, students with access to college campuses via the Ride for CHANGE Ride for HOPE College Tour with the support of community organizations, institutions, governmental agencies and elected officials supported by commercial interest and the motorcycle community with a means to combine resources to positively impact students.
