Mission: The irish international immigrant center (iiic) assists immigrants from around the world as they integrate into american society. We are a vibrant welcome center that provides integration services, advocates for systematic change, and facilitates cross-cultural community building and inclusion. Our intergration services include legal, wellness, and education services. Our vision is of a shared society, where all people are welcomed and valued, and enjoy equal opportunities and protections.
Programs: Immigration legal services: staff attorneys, bia certified staff, and pro bono attorneys provide assistance to low-income immigrants so that they may gain legal status, work authorization, and reunite with their families. Immigration legal services assists eligible immigrants in becoming u. S. Citizens-guiding them through the application process so they can move forward along the path to stable, productive lives in the united states. This program supports 1,700 individuals a year through our weekly legal clinics, direct case representation, and pro se immigration forms workshops. The iiic is recognized by the department of justice for our legal services program. Our wellness services includes counselling and case management, community-based educational programs and training, and crisis intervention. Counselling is free and culturally responsive to the needs of immigrants, focusing on anxiety and stress, isolation, addiction, and many other issues that families experience. This program supports more than 420 people every year. Our education services program includes english for speakers of other languages (esol) and career advancement courses-including computer skills classes, professional development workshops, and financial literacy presentations. For immigrants to thrive and flourish, it is critical that they break down the barriers of employment by learning how to read, write, speak, and understand english. This program serves 200 students each year.
