Mission: The principal mission of the regenerative research foundation is to develop regenerative stem cell therapies for various diseases of the central nervous system (cns): the brain, spinal cord, and retina, regardless of the cause.
Programs: The regenerative research foundation is dedicated to expanding the understanding of stem cells through scientific research and using this knowledge to develop therapies to treat and cure central nervous system diseases including spinal cord injury, disorders of the brain and eye diseases. During 2014 the foundation purchased a zeiss lsm780 confocal microscope. This is a unique asset and will be made available to the stem cell research community through the neuracell shared facility.
investigators at the foundation published 9 articles in scientific journals. Topics included basic stem cell research, brain development, eye disease and other topics related to the central nervous system.
investigators at the foundation joined a consortium of academic and research organization investigating genetic mutations and the early onset of dementias.
