I've been attending Recovery/Uplift meetings for nearly five years and wish I had discovered this place sooner. The knowledge I've gained and discussions I've had with other members have been hugely beneficial to my mental health, and compliment the work I do with my therapist quite well.

I've been going to Uplift (formerly Recovery of Kentucky) meetings for about three and a half years. It's a free, safe, and confidential place to connect with others who struggle with anxiety, depression, and other mental health difficulties. I've not only learned, grown, and even developed some friendships with other members and attendees. It's a perfect tool to have available because it offers support without replacing or interfering with any other mental health treatment (therapy, psychiatry/medication, etc.) you may already be using.
A free group offering a method to improve mental health is greatly needed in our society with all of the challenges with depression and anxiety that we have these days. Uplift challenges the individual to self-help through the teachings of Dr. Abraham Low's Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with group settings that amplify the importance of the teachings. Hearing others on their journey and the successes they've experienced with Uplift gives new people hope that the current situation they find themselves in CAN be remedied.
This group provides a great support system and way to connect with others who have also struggled with mental health. The program uses CBT to help you learn to control your thoughts and feelings. I have been going for 5 years and am so thankful I found it. I now feel that I have the ability to control and turn negative feelings around instead of being at their mercy.
