Mission: Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and facilitate the adoption of neglected and abused horses in New Mexico and surrounding states. First and foremost, we are dedicated to providing a safe, healthy environment for rescued horses and we follow the AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) care guidelines for Equine Rescue and Retirement Facilities. Our goal is to rehabilitate horses to be adopted to well-screened homes, where they can, once again, serve a useful purpose.

I run another horse rescue in New Mexico. Ranger's Legacy fills a special need in the state by being the only equine rescue in the SE quadrant. Our rescue donates to Rangers Legacy because of their importance to meeting the needs of underserved animals.

This organization does a very good job taking in horses that are down and out on their luck. They feed and clean them and show them love. When they are happy and healthy they find them a loving home. Very dedicated to their animals and I’m very happy to be on this journey with them. ❤️

They do the hard work. They do it well and with a lot of love. Transparent in all they do. I feel comfortable supporting them.

I have been following this rescue for many years. I adopted two horses from them in 2020 and one in 2021. They were very helpful every step of the way. Even coming to my home and helping me build fence before the horses were delivered. Unfortunately, due to a recent auto accident, I could no longer care for the horses as they needed so this rescue took them back. I had no worries about my babies going back because I knew they would do everything possible to find loving, caring homes for them. I now volunteer for this rescue by checking on horses that have been adopted in my area.

These women work extremely hard for these horses. They work in all kind of weather. Rain, snow, unbearable heat. They will go without to keep these horses happy and healthy.

I have followed RANGER'S LEGACY EQUINE RESCUE for several years now and Crystel Denton has been a Godsend for these horses! She's rehabilitated so many and found them wonderful homes. And she makes sure that if it doesn't work out that they are to return to the rescue so they can find another wonderful home.
Crystel also helps other animals that have been dropped off or found wandering around and in need of care and she helps them with vet care and feeding them and finding them a good home also.
I have helped support RANGER'S LEGACY EQUINE RESCUE ever since I found this rescue. It's one that I really liked and trusted.

These ladies are hard working and dedicated. They are in a remote location with no foot traffic but they manage to rescue and adopt out horses in need. Proud to support them!

Rangers Legacy Equine Rescue (RLER) is an incredible safe haven for unwanted, abused, and neglected horses. I have the utmost respect for Crystel and her team. They are resourceful professionals in horse rescue and rehabilitation and their compassion knows no limits. In fact, any animal in need that crosses their path will be taken in, cared for and placed in a loving home. With Crystel's expert leadership, the horses at RLER receive the proper nutrition for their individual needs, physical/medical care, patience, time, training and all the love they missed along the way. When horses leave RLER for their forever homes, they are whole again.

I started following on Facebook after Tia Torres told their story. They love and care for the horses to give them a second chance. I have donated when possible in this current economy and will continue to help them save the horses when possible. (And a few dogs along the way) Great job can’t wait to see what the future brings this small but great organization.

They are out in the middle of now where! When two dogs wondered in they found a way to get them neutered and help the owner. They are small but mighty in horse rescue, for not a high traffic location and I love the one on one interaction they have with donaters and how they appreciate every little thing!

They recently took in 2 dogs that kept coming to visit at the ranch. The owner did want them back. Both dogs have now been fixed and the will help find them good homes. Not just a horse rescue!!

Kindness, Caring, Compassion. These are just some of the words I would use to describe Ranger's Legacy Equine Rescue. They care about their horses for life. Once a RLER Horse, always a RLER Horse. And their Compassion for animals extends to other animals as well.

I became aware of this organization through Villalobos Canine Rescue when Tia Torres told their story online and that the VCR donated some land to them for their equine rescue. I figured if it was good enough for Tia Torres, then it was good enough for me. I then began following them on Facebook and was impressed with what they are doing with very little money and how incredibly hard they work. I have made several monetary donations without reservation.
