Its mission is to educate the public about racial, economic and political biases deeply embedded in the united states legal/penal system and to organize pressure for meaningful change. Books for prisoners is a volunteer-fun network that collects books to send to prisoners and works to educate the public about the epidemic of prison illiteracy.
