Prodigal Daughters Journey Home was a place where I found rest. This place is a refuge for the wounded, a home for the lost, and a place where I encountered Jesus. When I came into Prodigal Daughters, I was broken and hurting badly, I was alone and hopeless.. but upon coming in I found the peace I longed for , hope and there was a warm welcoming. My thirst was quenched and my hunger was satisfied.. the mentor ship at Prodigal was something I never had and I found it was much needed. The founders and their family are rare people, Ive never known such people existed, ones who are truly devoted and committed to the Lord. I was shown hands on what a true Christian looked like in my mentors. It helped me develop my own relationship with Jesus and see his character through the founders first, but then realizing it is Gods heart for us. When I came in I had nothing, I had 4 outfits and a pair of shoes. I hadn’t had my children in 4 years! Shortly after arriving at Prodigal, I was reunited with my daughter, she came to live with me at the Prodigal, which is another special gift the program permitted me because it is designed for women and their children, God is so good. My daughter needed me.. longed for me, and she now has me! My son was a long journey, I didn’t get him back until after I graduated, however , Prodigal daughters helped me fight for him the whole time, I got a lawyer that should have cost 10’s and thousands of dollars! But I was blessed and heaven was in my side. When God finally said to move, there was Denise and Joe, the founders, it was evening , they said pack up ! They handed me their van keys, and their credit card, and told me to go! How incredible that experience was, I was scared but I knew that the Lord said to move and Denise and Joe told me it’s time, I drove up to another state, where he was, I had court on zoom outside of the apartment where my son was living, I didn’t know if the judge would allow me to have him, but he did and I brought my son home that day! After 5 years I was reunited with my son (4of those years were post prodigal) . Now I am serving as staff here at the Prodigal and I have both of my kids ! I am in college, where as before Prodigal I didn’t even have my Ged, but Denise highly encourages education, and I will have my A.A in the spring!!! There is so much I have learned and gained these past 3 years here, this is the place God has made!

We lead a local women’s group where these girls come weekly to serve us. They set up chairs and tables & learn to set up our sound system. They participate in our discussions then faithfully serve in taking down the chairs and putting away our equipment.

We literally watch their lives change from hopeless despair to a joyful transformation in the 18 months they are involved. We have witnessed this over and over in the last 5 years of working along side this nonprofit.

Changed lives that go on to become solid citizens with jobs or continued education. One was just accepted to Southeastern College for her Masters degree: another to nursing school. This program is producing more than rehabilitation. It’s truly generating new lives.
