Planned Parenthood Of The Rochester Syracuse Region, Inc.

Programs: Planned parenthood of the rochester/syracuse region, inc. (pprsr) is a nonprofit organization that provides reproductive health care to men and women in the central and western ny area. Pprsr is licensed by new york state article 28 of the public health law. Pprsr delivers high quality, affordable reproductive health care including: annual exams, pregnancy testing, breast and cervical screening, all fda approved contraceptive options, counseling, pregnancy termination, and sti and hiv screening. Currently, pprsr has health centers in downtown rochester and syracuse, greece, batavia and canandaigua and has approximately 36,000 visits annually.

other programs operated by pprsr include:rape crisis service (rcs) provided 1,400 survivors of sexual assault and their significant others counseling and support in monroe, genesee, livingston, orleans and wyoming counties, engaged over 8,000 people through community education programs and professional trainings, collaborated with the suny geneseo help establish sexual assault counseling and support services to students, collaborated with ibero american action league to help service young latina girls who have been affected by sexual assault. In control, a teen pregnancy prevention program in rochester, empowered over 1,000 inner city teens through educational, vocational and recreational projects teens participated in two college tours (in rochester and washington, dc). Other activities for youth included photography, dance, color guard, drum core, music and theater development and community service projects.

education and outreach provides programming educational programming on sexual and reproductive health across our region. Education and outreach provided 598 education programs to over 11,000 children, teens and adults. Developed a training curriculum for connect & breathe (a newly launched, non-biased talk line in rochester) listening line volunteers. Provided educational programs to over 400 women at the albion correctional facility.
