I was part of the cycling program this year with Phoenix Patriot Foundation and helped a team of veterans and cyclists achieve their goals at the iconic Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race. I'm a professional cyclists and have won the race 4 times. I dontated my expertise to help the team and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I come from a military background and am a cyclists, so PPF is close to my heart. They are providing real equipment, goals and a way to achieve dreams that some of these veterans never believed would be possible. They were professional, organized and most of all, really caring and dedicated people. The work they are doing is important and I would recommend being invovled with them for veterans or volunteers who believe in their mission.
1 Thessalonians 5:12 "And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you." My Father is a retiree of 21 years in the military. I have personally seen the sacrifice that was freely given of him, my brother, other family members, and countless friends. They have shown the utmost respect and humbleness for all they are given, yet do not receive the same in return. Phoenix Patriot Foundation is just a well crafted name, it's the people behind the name that are doing God's work.
Their mission as publicized is "to provide direct support to injured combat wounded veterans who served post 9-11....." What more Patriotic duty can you think of to task yourself with? Very lofty goal, that requires time, heart, dedication just to begin thinking of accomplishing this task. Yet that didn't stop these good people from acting/ caring/ making possible the dreams of a disabled 7 year old who dreams to follow in the footsteps of the very people this organization was designed to help, but in reality will not get the opportunity because of circumstance. "No Man stands so Tall as when he stoops to help a child." -Abraham Lincoln. This organization is effecting people well beyond it's mission field, and I am more than honored to have an opportunity to share this story.
This is one amazing project!
Supporting veterans in a respectful and sustainable way is a noble mission, and Phoenix achieves it in an elegant and transparent way.
In my experience working with Jared Ogden on a couple of projects, he is willing to do what it takes to put Phoenix Patriot Foundation first. He seems to be a person genuinely interested in helping his teammates, and I have seen personal examples of his selfless behavior. If I had to take a deal on a handshake from somebody, it would be Jared Ogden, that's my impression of him and his organization.
The PPF is an organization of selfless and dedicated individuals, none of whom draw a salary. The PPF effectively work to provide disabled veterans with the emotional and often physical needs of recovery and re-integration. I strongly support all that they do.
After being wounded and being out of the service for years, I was still trying to find that feeling of brotherhood and family. PPF has helped me not only meet some of the greatest men and women through their organization and events such as their NQC's (Never Quit Challange) and the jet ski program. They truly cater to our needs based on where we are at that particular point in our life, and help come up with a game plan and execute that plan by providing many different types of services. I do not mean to be so vague; but they truly have helped in multiple areas rather than just their events. They have helped a musician who is one of the greatest Marines I know, with a grant to help get that avenue of his life moving even further towards a great career. I've seen the house that they have been an integral part of helping make come true for one of the greatest Navy Seals, I've ever had the pleasure to meet and ride a jet-ski up and down both the East and the West coast with 2 prosthetic legs. I could go on even further listing off the great men this organization has helped such as myself and they actually give back and are run by a truly great group of leaders from the top down that make sure their Mission is Accomplished by helping enrich the lives of our Veterans!
The PPF is a amazing non profit that does many amazing thing's for the veteran community and their families.
They have assisted in home builds by raising funds by many different means, they have a awesome and talented Phoenix Patriot Band that goes on tour and raises funds for the foundation.
PPF Is outstanding! Unlike some of the other Veteran programs you see this non-profit out there, helping, supporting and giving these guys new life. I love it. I think more people should donate time and energy, even if that's all they have to help people who give us our freedoms. In the end its all about the wounded vets that need everyone's support to help them live fulfilled and happy lives. I want this program to reach as many lives as possible. It really does help so much! These people are not only there to help them, I've actually discovered a mentor sense about them. Always wanting to help, always doing it for the right reasons. PPF and its members are very much what this country needs more of.
Aware of what is needed, work their goals. Achieve for their veterans. They have veterans backs I will always have theirs. I fell in love with this charity the moment I volunteered the first time. Not all encompassing for every vet, but trying to bring focus and benefit to specific issues for the veterans that need help. I am a proud veteran and even more proud today that I am working with an organization that spends money wisely on veterans who need help. Recon & evaluate your objectives; build a plan & execute that plan flawlessly. That is what Phoenix Patriot Foundation is about. I have seen the impact of the efforts and I have dedicated my support and efforts alongside the leadership PPF has. Amen shipmate. EX CINERE SURGEMUS - OUT OF ASHES WE WILL RISE. Look us up. If you are in Houston, always looking for more volunteers. We are growing here and need more help.
Phoenix Patriot Foundation is an amazing nonprofit that continues to grow and increase its reach to as many veterans as possible. There are many nonprofit organizations out there that help veterans, but this one is unique in that they tailor their approach to each individual veteran. PPF is a rising star in the nonprofit world, and they will go far with everyone's help.
The Phoenix Patriot Foundation has involved people across our nation in many income brackets. This group touches those from 9/11 and any Veteran who may need assistance in getting individualized care, re-established in society, health care or even in work. While The Phoenix Patriot Foundation has traveled about they have actively posted on Facebook about their concerts who they have met, etc. What is neat about this group is that they see what they are doing as part of the original mission - "finish the mission" and this speaks to anyone who is task oriented. I do pray this is a foundation that stays going strong.
Veterans and civilians that run this group are excessively gracious with their time. They're moving mountains to help our Nation's Best have a place to call home and fill it with a family. I am in awe of this charity and will support until I can't breathe again.
I don't know where to start. As a student of History, a teacher, a Disabled American Army Veteran, I look at this foundation from a different viewpoint than most. In a time when you don't know which Charity really delivers the money you send, you can be sure PPF puts your donations to good use. It is a case of "Veterans helping Veterans" in a way that I've not seen in other charities. My connection with this charity began when I read about them and saw video footage. I truly believe they understand Vets that are not independent physically in every way imaginable. Sitting indoors looking at 4 walls, year after year is isolating,, can lead to depression, and hard when you've been a thrill seeker and rock solid physically. PPF does many things. PPF gets these deserving Veterans back in the game, back to looking forward to an activity they used to love with support, kindness, and a day filled with experiences with their fellow brothers who've served. Their mission is genius. They execute that mission in a genius way. This will always be my foundation to support. The founders and supporters are incredible. ~ ~ Cynthia Brady
This organization is amazing and totally focused on improving the lives of veterans when they return. Very few if any veterans support groups are as broad scope as Phoenix Patriot Foundation.
I first met Guy during my first Leadville event in 2012. At that moment I had no idea what the Phoenix Patriot Foundation was but I soon found out. My goal at Leadville was to complete the race under sub 9 with the help of my friend Bruce. We met guy during the race and he took noticed of our objective. Being a below the knee amputee, completing a sub 9 on my first attempt would be difficult but not impossible. Needless to say Guy abandoned his race in order to help Bruce to help me achieve my goal. Unfortunately we missed the cut off by 7 minutes, 9 hours and 7 minutes. The following year I returned and I achieved my goal.
I kept in touch with Guy from time to time, sometimes seeing him at Leadville with other PPF riders. In the Winter of 2014 Bruce and I decided to join and become Ambassadors for the PPG cycling program. Our mission was to take a handful of Veterans back to Leadville and help them accomplish their goal by pairing them with another Veteran or civilian for support. The cycling program is growing and I am grateful to be part of this great movement. I am excited for future events in which we will send and take more Veterans so that they can challenge themselves not only physically but also mentally. That being said, I believe that cycling plays a huge role in the recovery process for any individual who suffers or has been through a traumatic event. I have already learned much from this and I look forward to learning so much more and helping others achieve their goals.
Liquid Militia clothing has been a supporter of PPF events for four years. We appreciate their service programs for Veterans and their families and encourage other businesses to assist them in their outeach
I attended PPF event, Never Quit Challenge from Japan. I believe our nation is also protected by the United States. As a Japanese I admire all soldiers working for the world peace. PPF has taken care of veterans who deserve. Great foundation. Thank you.
I had a chance to experience the first-hand effects of this amazing foundation this year when I accompanied the receivers on the first leg of their trip from Morro Bay to San Diego. It was a warm, smiley atmosphere although these gentlemen were under serious anxiety and stress. I learned one-tenth of what our heroes are made of and will do everything I can to support more.
When you're looking for whom to give your money to, please consider the Phoenix Patriot Foundation, real money goes to real heroes. Truly amazing experience. Thank you for organizing this foundation!
The Never Quit Challenge (aka NQC) founded by Ms. Shawn Alladio gives back to wounded veterans by providing them with both a challenge and an opportunity to interact with their fellow Brothers. The NQC worked with the Phoenix Patriot Foundation to orchestrate this great event. I had the pleasure and honor of being part of the support group working to provide logistics support as the riders made their way down the coast. The professionalism of the team and caliber of riders was great and provided a great opportunity to generate funds for our wounded veterans. I highly encourage you to check out both the Never Quit Challenge and the Phoenix Patriot Foundation. Mark G
PPF is unique due to the people involved. Very diverse with charity events and support for our disable vets. I am looking forward to seeing this non-profit grow and provide more to others. Very thankful to be apart of it.
I can not think of a more deserving nonprofit for the 2014 Great Non Profit title. The folks at PPF seem to take such great care of those who need them most. They truly are an honorable group of people who want nothing more than to help our Vets. I'm happy to be able to show my sons what can be accomplished when people get together and devote themselves to a life of service. Liane Schmit and family Boston,Ma.
