CASA of Central Texas is an amazing organization of professionals deeply involved with children who have been neglected or abused. What part of society could possibly deserve more help than these children. These professionals noticed many years ago that children who were removed from their homes were thrown into another form of neglect as they went through the court system alone. Pooling of concern, love and ideas eventually led to CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, volunteers who accompany the children through the complex and scary system at what must be a very frightening time of helplessness that must compound the trauma that led them there. These children deserve better. From a personal perspective, the only way to save the world is to save the children. What can a child do alone?
