What a wonderful experience I had with PawSafe. The application process was fair and easy. I was then invited to the shelter and worked with an adoption coordinator. Initially I saw a dog I had to have and was disappointed when PawSafe said to come with an open mind since most people do not match with the dog they think they want. Boy where they right. I came to my appointment insisting that I only wanted to see Charlie. I was introduced to Charlie and he was very sweet but the little puppy in the run next to him was doing everything possible to get my attention. It was love at first site and that is who I adopted. Their adoption process is touch free - a plus with covid scares still lingering - and it was simple. I got all my medical documentation and adoption contract delivered right to my email. They do ask that you take your puppy to the vet within 72 hours which was a little tricky but my vet fit me in. They were impressed with both the puppy and paperwork. Great group of volunteers that really care about the animals.
I had such a good experience with pawsafe. They kept everyone safe with covid precautions. Only one person was allowed to go in and then the puppy was passed to me while I was in the car. We received a beautiful healthy puppy girl and we were well informed that she did not have vaccines, spaying, and micro chipping due to her age. Yes the fee is higher than normal shelters but I honestly would have donated that amount to them anyway for doing the work they do
My experience with Paw Safe was AWFUL! I spent years waiting until it was a good time to adopt a puppy, and am glad that I did because I found Ruby, the sweetest little puppy ever. I took her home after being told she was seen by the vet that day that gave her a clean bill of health.
However the next day I brought her to my vet to establish a relationship. Upon listening to her heart we learned that Ruby had a very distinct heart murmur that could not have been missed. Upon further testing it was confirmed that Ruby’s heart is defective.
I am heartbroken, devastated, and angry. I contacted paw safe right away however they were less than helpful. I was told I could return her or adopt another puppy.
This is so unfair to these animals. I could never just return her like she was defective. I am going to do everything I possibly can to get Ruby the best care and all the love she deserves. And for how ever long her life is, it will be the best ever!
No thanks to paw safe who denies that it was possible for her to have this condition when she was with them.
I didn't have such a good experience with Paw Safe out of Ellington,Ct. All I am going to say is be careful, and get your puppy checked And get the paperwork from All your visits!! One thing I didn't do was get all the paperwork, now it's like we didn't go, and my puppy died, No refund and or No puppy!! C. Dube Thank you enjoy your fur family additions!! This may get Deleted!!!!
This organizatiin is all about them making money and nothing else. They were the rudest most offensive snobs I have ever come in contact with. Diane wrote me a nasty email disregarding an adoption I wanted to make. She already decided I was not going to adopt the dog I wanted. I am a dog professional and have never been so disrespected in my life. These folks are overcharging people and lying about vaccinations and telling people it costs them money for transport. I transport myself and happen to know its free! This Diane disgusted me and I feel sorry for any dog in their care. Horrible organization! BEWARE

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I am sorry that you felt the need to write negative things because we did not approve you to adopt from PawSafe. While it's wonderful that you trasport for free, we do pay a lot of money to transport, and to our vets for medical/shots/exams, I am sure they'd be happy to prove your comments as false. While we welcome honest reviews - even if they point out things we can do better - there is no place for lies. This review is nothing more than someone not getting what they wanted and choosing to slander. Should anyone want to speak to our vets or transporters - you're welcome to personally contact me. --~Diane
What a great concept, but terrible follow through. i know this is harder to do then expected however, the adoption clinics were poorly explained and there is no contact number tor each anyone. However, the process was fine and we were able to bring home the dog we wanted. The first red flag was when he was supposed to come vaccinated and all the vaccinations were completely out of date. Not only did I pay the adoption fee which was suppose to include all those, I then dished out vet bills that should not have been present. Then, upon this dog biting my two year old, this "safe haven" and "low kill" rescue did not want any part in assisting me except to tell me to put the dog down. I could not even get the respect of a phone call to speak to anyone who may be able to point me in any direction. I have a hard time swallowing this. This 2 year old puppy now lives with a bachelor who does not want kids and can give him a fantastic home. I do not agree with sentencing dogs to death because my home was not appropriate.
As a board member of a volunteer-based, non-profit humane society in the south I am honored to be working with this group. They put the needs of the animals first and find amazing matches that integrate homeless and often neglected and abused animals into loving families. We know that our puppies grow into happy and healthy furry family members and for that we are ever grateful.
These folks are AWESOME! I have worked with many rescue organizations and this one stands out above the others. It is clear that this organization's main focus is saving as many animals as possible. Some rescues morph into "we know best" and get wrapped up in a power trip with those wanting to adopt. These folks are level headed and simply want to re-home animals for the animal's sake - not their own self serving righteousness! Very organized and attentive, they are making a huge difference and helping others to make a difference as well!

Thank you for taking the time to write. I hope this does not get deleted as we'd prefer to be able to respond publically. PawSafe works hard to send home puppies that are healthy and happy. Unfortunately that does not always happen and there will be puppies that are sick after adoption. Our contract states that all animals should see a vet in 4 days. After being in her home for 10 days we were alerted by the vet that this puppy passed before the clinic even had time to treat her. We asked the owner about the 4-day vet visit and to send us an invoice, she didn't know what vet she saw, where the vet was, or even how to locate them. We were then told that same vet said vet heard a "crackle sound" but didn't do or prescribe anything. Nor was PawSafe ever contacted until the day the puppy was brought to the clinic dying. In a string of emails Catherine was asked to send us proof of the vet visit and we would initiate a refund. That offer still stands.
