I have volunteered with this organization for a number of years, and I enthusiastically endorse their work. Their programs and Teaching Artists are excellent, and they make an important contribution to our public schools. I have also volunteered at their special events, which are wonderful. They are well-organized and a great opportunity for the community to share in art-making together.
I have been a board member since 2015 and have been consistently impressed with the quality of the programs and dedication of the P.S. ARTS staff. The in school programming provides students with consistent sequential arts education and gives all a place to express their creativity. The family nights that take place at schools in the evenings provide an opportunity to bring families together to help build community through art. I am so impressed with the organization and make it a mission to introduce my friends and colleagues to the great work that P.S. ARTS does.
P.S. ARTS is an amazing organization that fills such a unique role in the Los Angeles community. I was constantly in awe of the talent and dedication of the teaching artists and the rest of the P.S. ARTS staff. P.S. ARTS is the perfect example of how a non-profit should work with a community and fit their individual needs as they create programs to specifically fit the needs of every school they work with. This organization is full of life long learners who are constantly pushing themselves and their programs to be the best they can be. While spending a year volunteering for them I had the privilege to see students become more confident, kind and creative because of their art classes and I also got to witness families experiencing the joy of art-making together at Family Art Nights. P.S. ARTS not only provides the opportunity to create for thousands of students every year, but it does it in the most enriching and collaborative way I have ever seen from an arts organization.
THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!
For the past two years, I have had the great pleasure of working with P.S. Arts. From the compassionate and supportive staff to the high-quality work they contribute to the community, I can say with great confidence that my experience with the nonprofit has been nothing short of exemplary. The guidance I've received from the organization's team has allowed me to pursue my own ambitions in the arts in education. I'm excited to see how P.S. Arts continues to grow!
I’m so proud to support P.S. ARTS. The program is robust and serves school communities in a meaningful way. P.S. ARTS helps keeps students engaged, excited for school and connected to one another.
P.S. Arts is an amazing non-profit worthy of your support. I've participated as a teacher liaison for two years, and I've witnessed students who lack confidence and don't feel that they fit in transform and overcome these limitations due to participation in Inside Out. I've also watched this transformation carry forward; Inside Out has a positive and long-lasting impact on students that I am able to see for the remainder of their time in middle school. The staff that run Inside Out are efficient, organized and effective; everything runs smoothly. For instance, over 90% of our students are free or reduced lunch. The staffs' interaction with our students and their families is consistent and exemplary. Supporting a well-run program that has such a positive impact on students' lives is a worthy endeavor.
It's such a great pleasure to serve an NPO that truly transforms the lives of our youth. Art is necessary and P.S. Arts makes it possible for the impossible. I'm excited and proud to help make a difference!
PS Arts is an amazing organization that has been instrumental in our arts integration program at Florence Griffith Joyner Elementary School, a Turnaround Arts School. PS Arts has been contracted through Turnaround Arts to be our support provider throughout this process. Darryl King, our support coach has gone above and beyond in the coordination of coaching, support in paperwork for the program, and participating and supporting in all school arts related events. His positive attitude and contagious smile inspires us all to want to do our best at implementing arts school-wide. The coaches that they have sent (Tinia Orduna, Jaime Reichner, Leah Padow, and Charlotte Perebinossoff) have been so wonderful with our staff and scholars. They are always readily available to our staff to answer any questions or offer any support needed. The coaching that they have done has been extremely effective, as our teachers are still currently implementing the strategies and lessons into their instruction. Also, Lora Cawelti, Associate Director of In-School Programming is AMAZING!!! She is the one that makes things happen. When we need something, no matter how challenging, she always finds a way to make it work, so that we get the best support and instruction possible. Overall PS Arts is wonderful organization with a positive culture that inspires arts centered learning for all.
I volunteered as an Assistant Teaching Artist with P.S. Arts, and their actions and values regarding youth education go above and beyond expectations!
I am an artist of 35-year's, and a trained art therapist. I know how important the creative process is in development and P.S.Arts provides an excellent foundation for growth. I would love the opportunity to work with this organization. Thanks for allowing me to volunteer.
I've had the pleasure of volunteering for P.S. Arts for a few years now. I've also ran and fundraised with their team in the Los Angeles Marathon the past two years. PS. Arts' work is crucial and knowing the impact the program has thousands of kids make it so easy to support this organization anyway I can (including running a marathon!). Thanks for filling our classrooms with creativity, P.S. Arts.
P.S Arts/Inside Out has been a tradition in my family for many years.. All 3 of my sisters and my daughter participated in the program. Through their participation they learned teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills. They had opportunities to express themselves through the Arts and were introduced to various artistic genres through fieldtrips. As they progressed in the program they had opportunities to take on leadership roles. The program was an extension of our family and I always felt safe leaving the kids. Lasting friendships were developed. I would highly recommend this program.

P.S Arts has given me some the most amazing experiences and opportunities that I've had in the past years. I was an Inside Out mentor for 2 years, starting 3. I was in their Neighborhood Arts program since I was little. As a youth mentor I was able to learn new things about myself that allowed me to grow into the young woman that I am today. I've not only become a leader but a role model to those around me. One of my favorite parts about being a mentor with Inside Out was going to camp with the middle school kids in the program. At camp I was able to see the creativity burst throughout each students while creating and practicing their plays. P.S Arts is a great program that allows kids to express themselves through the arts, which I think is very important.
P.S. ARTS is a super hero among Los Angeles arts organizations! Each year thousands of students are truly fortunate to experience the positive influence of the talented, dedicated P.S. ARTS Teaching Artists, who not only teach with a passion in their artistic disciplines, but also instill confidence, accountability and other life skills in their students. A special shout-out to the incredible Inside Out Community Arts program at P.S. ARTS, an award-winning theatre arts program that has a very special way of impacting lives!
P.S Arts truly is an amazing program! I have been apart of a program within P.S arts called inside out community arts as a student for 3 years and I came back to help as a mentor 5 years later. Even in college I continue to try and be involved because I love the impact that this program leaves on children. It is a great feeling of satisfaction when a student breaks out of their shell or gains any type of skill from this program because it really does stick with you all your life. Thanks to this program I have been inspired to continue working with kids and I am pursuing a career in teaching because I want to continue impacting students lives through the arts !
I have been a member of the Board of Directors of P.S. Arts since 2004. In the time that I have been involved, the organization has grown to provide high quality arts education to over 25,000 students in underserved communities in California. The board members, CEO, staff and teaching artists are incredibly talented and very committed to the mission of P.S. Arts.
P.S ARTS is a great program that I have luckily been apart of and has helped me grown as a person and leader. The programs that I have been apart of within P.S Arts are “Inside Out Community Arts” and “Teen Media Initiative”. These two programs have had a great positive impact in my life not only have I learned how to express my thoughts about social issues through the arts in (Inside Out), but I also found a great passion for web-design/computer science in (Teen Media Initiative). Which next year, I will be pursuing a double major in Computer Science and in a Pre-Med field. With college only approaching in less than year, I hope to be involved with P.S ARTS down line, giving back to the community.
PS Arts is working with our district to support Arts in all of our schools. Our particular school has had an amazing music experience with Ms. Emma and a fabulous Theater experience with Ms. Kristy. The PS Arts staff is responsive, engaged and very interested in making sure all students understand how the arts contribute to their greater being. PS Arts is a fabulous organization!
P.S. ARTS is an amazing organization! From the tirelessly dedicated staff, to the continuously creative Teaching Artists, and all the confident, innovative students in between -- P.S. ARTS is a true leader in the arts education field. It was an honor to be a part of their team, and I look forward to giving back to this organization for years to come.
My daughter had lots of fun ! She met different people and learn to work with with different cultures. In my opinion ps arts made her a leader ! In regards to the ps arts staff, they are very unique and helpful; the young community is their priority!
