Damon is an environmental leader that I've always looked up to. He has a penchant for getting big restoration projects done and ORE has now become a leader in Southwest Florida. Excited for what's to come!
I have known Damon for many years as a friend and having worked with him on some of his county projects. He exemplifies what it takes to get a big job completed. His work with ORE is taking his passion to the next level. He is already involving the community and many kids to work on giving the residences of our area cleaner water. We are lucky to have such a talented individual as Damon Moore right here in our community!
Damon Moore is a passionate leader at Oyster River Ecology, whose dedication to conservation extends beyond habitat restoration to inspiring the next generation. I’ve witnessed firsthand how Damon engages with youth, using his knowledge and enthusiasm to educate them on the importance of environmental stewardship. His hands-on approach and genuine commitment not only teach ecological principles but also inspire young minds to become active participants in creating positive change. Damon’s work bridges education and action, fostering a deep respect for nature and a drive to protect it for the future.
Damon Moore and Oyster River Ecology is leading by example in the nonprofit world. He is generous with his time, especially with youth, to communicate about the specialness of our local environment. ORE is demonstrating how committed individuals can make a significant positive impact in the environment and in the community.
I've worked with Damon for over 20 years and he continues to amaze. Oyster River Ecology is the culmination of a lifelong love of Florida ecosystems. Damon is a teacher, mentor and most of all an awesome restoration ecologist. His current projects breathe life into dying ecosystems in Florida.

When it comes to restoring local and regional ecology, the time is... well, decades ago. That means we need large scale restoration and we need it now. ORE, under the impassioned and expert leadership of Damon, is implementing this much needed restoration. ORE can't reach the restoration goals alone, so Damon is scaling the people component by educating the general public and, most importantly, the next generation on our natural environment and the role of restoration! If you're interested in helping make an impact, please consider donating or volunteering!
Damon and team have worked so hard in our community! From literally restoring habitats to giving talks to local organizations, they have spread good info about the environment and truly walk the talk.
