Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Employment Preparation & Procurement, Job Training
Mission: We provide accessible, high- quality training and employment services to local residents and employers. We do our work because we truly believe in our community.
Results: Oakland PIC manages three One Stop career centers in Oakland. Currently, over 47,000 job seekers visit our career centers per year. We provide workshops and classes (resume writing, computer skills, and online job search), as well as resource referrals, for more than 4,500 job seekers per year – both English-speaking and non-English speaking. In the 2014-2015 fiscal year, we placed more than 560 job seekers in jobs and dozens more in vocational training, which lead to employment.
