This is a wonderful organization in the Dayton area. I have had students, grieving the loss of family members, who had benefitted from having a place to share their feelings with others in their circumstances. Having this service enables these teens to get through each day of their grief.

I had the wonderful opportunity of working with Oak Tree for about 2 years. Sometimes in life we just need to know that someone else understands us and understands what we are feeling. Oak Tree gives that to children who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The children interact with each other and trained volunteers who help them know it’s okay to feel the way that they are feeling. Sometimes I cried, sometimes I laughed but I always left feeling like I had been a part of something to help children heal. This is an organization that is run by people who love to invest in the future of children. The goal of Oak Tree and its volunteers is to work for the healing and happiness of these little people who so badly need our help. It’s a truly awesome place for the healing of a heart to begin.

I've been a volunteer with Oak Tree Corner for 7 years, first as a group leader and then as a board member.

The organization does a great job of creating a welcoming and safe environment for grieving children.

I became involved with Oak Tree Corner through my late wife and this involvement has opened my eyes to the children and families that have had a loss and the wide impact this loss has on particularly the children. Oak Tree Corner provides a safe, risk free enviorment for children and families to come together with similar children and families and begin the healing process. Oak Tree Corner is a shining example of a small, non-profit that provides much needed care that is otherwise unavailable. I am proud to be both a board member and volunteer for Oak Tree Corner.

Since beccoming a Board Member, I have seen many instances where this organizations have help families I kknow and don't know. No one really knows how children will react to the sudden loss of someone close to them. It is amazing what time and effort all the folks at Oak Tree do to help the kids in these tough times. I have seen where this organization does more than anyone can believe. What an eye opener.

This is a wonderful, helpful, safe haven for children who have experienced the death of someone they love. The children are fed a meal before their play time with volunteers. They may be led in art activities, cooking experiences, physical activities, or just simple board games or talking time. The volunteers go through extensive training to be able to mentor the children. Hundreds of children have been loved and cared for through this giving group of people.
