I have been working with ENDANGERED wildlife for 35 + years and have seen countless Zoos and wildlife facilities and, Oak Creek Zoological Conservancy (OCZC) ranks on the highest level. The dedication and focus on large purpose built, species specific habitats is second to none! More importantly, the Directors and staff really dedicate and pride themselves on providing each animal in their care with Environmental Enrichment, something so often overlooked in the majority of wildlife facilities. In addition, OCZC, specializes in building true "habitats" for the wildlife they care for and NOT "cages," also something not seen in so many facilities. The staff at OCZC, are so dedicated to providing the best of the best in wildlife husbandry and Veterinary care for their animals. This can be easily observed by the obvious happiness of each animal in their care and successful breeding of some of the most endangered animals. Conservation and education are high priorities at this facility and the fact that, OCZC participates with the AZA ( American Association Of Zoological Parks And Aquariums) with some of their SSP (Species Survival Plans) with some of the Endangered species they care says a lot about the quality of this facility. The AZA is very picky who they choose to work with so this is a very big deal. Like I said above, I have been in this field my entire adult life. I have worked with countless species of Endangered and Threatened wildlife and have met and interacted with so many Zoo Keepers and Zoological facility managers and this facility gets my highest marks. I cannot be more impressed with the facility and its dedicated staff.
Oak Creek Zoological is the most amazing place for mistreated or animals that are getting up in age, the owners are very caring and loving animals lovers as well as their young daughters, they have given all the animals their own habitats and feed them so well. These animals know their voices and they relate with each other. It is the most admired Sanctuaries I have ever encountered, I know many think it should be open to the public, however they think of the animals "Well Being" it's not about opening up to the public it is about educating groups that have the same interest in these amazing animals. The Owners are doing a wonderful job and the love they have for all the animals is admirable. Good job to the entire family. Please Donate to help this Amazing Conservatory - God Bless All
