Causes: Crime & Law, Half-Way Houses for Offenders & Ex-Offenders
Mission: Nwrrc's mission is to support, educate and encourage our residents while they do the work necessary to develop and implement an individualized program plan that guides them in the successful transition back into their communities/ families including finding employment and housing, without reoffending again. At the same time we are here to assure constant supervision, provide structure for accountability and, as a result, protect the community from any criminal behavior.
Programs: Nwrrc provides an essential community resource by helping individuals successfully reintegrate into society following their release from a federal corrections facility. Nwrrc provides job placement assistance, case management, counseling, and a safe and drug free residential environment through contracts with the federal bureau of prisons and u. S. Probation and pretrial services. We served approximately 444 people during 2017-18. Of those 444 in our program, we had a total of 342 releases from the program. 251 of those releases were due to successful completion of our program (73. 4%) and 91 were returned to custody (26. 6% failure rate). The national average recidivism (or failure) rate is approximately 30%. 86% of residents in our program were male and 14% were female. The average age was 41.
