When it comes to youth sports I am on the fence. I think it is great for the kids to set their foundation and learn life long lessons. However, the part I do not like are the parents, coaches, and administrators. Parent, coaches and administrators please remember to lead by example. Keep integrity and honesty with the youth's ages. Winning is fun, but think of the lessons you set in trying to win. Parents, this is not junior high, high school, college and DEFINATELY not the NFL.
No matter how talented you may think your child is all it takes is one play to ruin their playing days. Thus, find the proper balance and be honest in your dealings with the kids.
If you allow older kids that do not qualify because of age limit play with younger kids what are you teaching the child.
Have fun teach sound principles and enjoy the game for what it is a GAME.
