With a client-support base currently approaching 400 individuals, along with their peers and families, No More ODs has made a profound impact in the community.  In 2024 alone, the organization distributed 2,720 doses of Narcan, a life-saving medication for opiate overdoses. Impressively, 277 successful opiate overdose reversals were recorded in Chatham County and its surrounding areas within the same year.
No More ODs continues to be an essential resource and advocate for harm reduction, striving to reduce the devastating effects of opioid overdoses and support those affected by substance use disorders.
The organization's founder and director, Lesli Messinger, is joined by Rick Cricenti, the former director of the New Hampshire Health and Safety Department (now residing in Savannah) along with many outstanding volunteers.
Lesli Messinger dedicates her efforts to saving lives from opiate overdose deaths in memory of her son, Austin Barthen, who passed away from an OxyContin overdose in 2005.
In loving memory of Austin Barthen, whose birthday is on February 26, his legacy continues to inspire and drive our mission at No More ODs. We honor his memory and dedicate our work to saving lives and supporting those affected by substance use disorders.
