Causes: Economic Development, Urban & Community Economic Development
Mission: Mission is to finance economic development initiatives in low/moderate income neighborhoods in arizona.
Programs: The neighborhood economic development corporation (nedco) is a certified community development financial institution that provides business loans, technical assistance and financial support within targeted areas of the community. Nedco collaborates and partners with local municipalities, businesses, developers and other institutions to meet community development goals in the metro area. Lending activity in fy 16/17 resulted in nedco funding two (2) loans totaling $120,000 within the target community. This funding continues to prove successful in creating employment opportunities for low to moderate income individuals. Also during this period, nedco worked to provide specific technical assistance to thirty-two (32) local businesses which worked to create employment opportunities within the community. Last, nedco sponsored thirteen (13) business education workshops during fy 16/17 within the city of mesa for the benefit of small business owners and entrepreneurs. Classes were offered in both english and spanish and hosted three hundred and twenty-three unduplicated individuals.
