Mission: The adult learning center will continue to excel as an educational agency designed to provide the academic skills, job training and support services needed for adults and young adults to achieve more productive lives for themselves and their children.
Programs: Our school age adventures program provides before and after school care to elementary schools in nashua, merrimack, hudson, litchfield and hollis. We promote the healthy social and academic development of children; and help familes by allowing parents to work knowing their children are safe and happy. Our stem traveling enrichment program brings interactive workshops to children, designed to encourage problem-solving skills using critical thinking and team work. We served 975 children in fiscal year 2017.
our early adventures childcare program provides high quality care to children from 6 weeks to pre-kindergarten. We are accredited by the highest credential awarded to child care centers. We focus on development of literacy, creativity, social and physical skills through research-based curriculum. We offer the family connection program to all of our parents, which is a monthly dinner and family support group facilitated by a clinical child psychologist and parenting expert. We served 65 children during fiscal year 2017.
clearway high school was established by the adult learning center in 1977 as an alternantive high school program for teenagers who need a specialized setting to successfully earn a high school diploma or equivalency diploma. Clearway is approved by the new hampshire department of education for the education of both identified and non-identified students. Clearway's mission is to educate teenagers so that they learn to function effectively as adults. We do this by helping them improve their academic and work skills, their decision-making skills, and daily life skills. Clearway's capacity is approximately seventy students, including eighteen who receive special education services.
the organization offers additional program services directed to meet the needs of adults in learning english, earning their hiset degree (formerly the ged or high school equivalency certificate) and computer skill classes.
