Mission: My Very Own Bed provides new beds and linens to children of families who have recently secured stable housing. The comfort of a real bed instead of the floor allows children to enter the stages of sleep that allow them to feel fully rested. Being able to get a good night’s sleep positively benefits kids’ academic success and potential, too. My Very Own Bed positively impacts our community by providing children a comfortable place to sleep, which allows them a chance to reach their full potential. It has been proven that proper sleep is vital to the growth and development of every child- it affects their physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being. A bed of their own is giving them so much more than just comfort or security- it's giving them a chance to get the kind of sleep that will allow them to be their best selves.
