BEWARE OF THIS ORGANIZATION!
We adopted a puppy for $200 and by day 3 - our puppy was SO sick, vomiting and diarrhea and not eating - we took to VET ER. She tested positive for PARVO and roundworms. ER Dr stated that this puppy was infected with Parvo BEFORE being adopted! the quote was $7K to treat in hospital and we opted for home treatment (as I am retired VET TECH). and hope for the best.
It took 3 days to obtain the Vaccine records; after relentless hounding and owner of the group refused to give me the wellness check up reports (which are required at adoptions).
Both ER Dr AND personal VET both indicated that by not giving records; the vaccine history and worming history need to be questioned and not trusted. We were given meds to treat parvo and worms for home treatment and given a guarded prognosis. After 4 days, our puppy is starting to improve and the prognosis is now good. We have been to vet for a recheck and starting vaccinations over was recommended. We have spent over $1600.00 for this puppy's care and e are not done yet. I did reach out to the owner of the group and stated that they should take care of this bill or at the very least, refund our adoption fee.
to the date of writing this, she will not respond to me. She gave her condolences to my husband and hoped the puppy gets better. I will not go back for vaccs or spay, we will go to our regular vet. We have fallen in love with this girl and will do anything possible to get her better. We still have a long road back to recovery but I wanted to share my experience with this group. My opinion is that they are not well versed in animal care and procedures that go with running a rescue group. BUYER BEWARE!
I am so happy with my baby from Mutts Galore. They really care about their dogs and want to see them land in good homes. While waiting my baby, Georgie was placed in an amazing foster home where they took very good care of her. My interaction with Mutts was exclusively on Facebook messenger which made me a little nervous at first (a friend of mine was scammed before) but once the ball got rolling I felt very comfortable with this company! They are incredible, really care, and I would highly recommend donating, fostering, and adopting with them. Thank you!
I really didn’t want to do this but I feel like others should be informed of what to expect with this rescue. We got our puppy (terrier mix) on 7/3/2021 and he was super skinny, very afraid of men and children. They gave him his microchip/shots then and there but failed to tell us not all of the shots had been provided. And that he also had Coccidia and roundworms. I believe they did in fact know because it was advanced according to the vet. They claimed they had no idea. We talked to another family who adopted a sibling and they were never informed by anyone that she might also have them as well. On top of that it took a lot for us to get his shot records. We finally got to take a photo of them when we went to get the “final” shots and that’s where we found out that he hadn’t gotten all of the necessary shots. When they were giving him his shots they let most of it leak all of him and said “no that’s fine, he’s okay as long as he gets some of it” we had to go redo those shots because the vet said it was in fact NOT okay. I’m not mad at them but I think they’ve bitten off more than they can chew and don’t have a good handle on how to manage so many puppies at once. We did pay the $250 for him to not get his full set of shots unfortunately. If you shop through them please get a full shot list before you leave and make sure you except to take them to the vet for a formal checkup after.
PLEASE READ THE UPDATE OF THIS. THE NON-PROFIT DID THE RIGHT THING IN THE END. On Feb 2, 2020 my nephew and wife adopted a pitbull mix puppy named Hazel. They paid $200. By Feb 7th the dog was very ill with diarrhea and throwing up. They took the dog to a vet on Feb 9th and spent $100 plus getting tests. The vet said the dog had roundworms and prescribed medicine. The dog continually got worse and on Feb 11th Mutts Galore came and picked the dog up. She died 2 hours later. My nephew ask for a refund, he believes the dog was ill when he got her. First they said they had to wait for a necropsy to be done. Now they say the non-profit has too many bill to do a refund. The necropsy was not done and their vet said that there are only 40 vets in Texas that can do one and that there is not one in Joshua, TX so the body would have to be shipped. He doubted they would spend the time or money to do this. I am going to contact the ASPCA and see if this is an isolated incident or if there have been other cases. My nephew's children are devastated at the lose of the Hazel. UPDATE As of today Feb 16th we have been fully refunded and I believe this non-profit did not know the dog was sick. This has been a tragedy for everyone involved.
Very disappointed in how this rescue handled a lost dog situation. A friend of mine started fostering one of their pups, and was walking him one day when he got spooked and slipped out of his collar. Knowing my friend was new to fostering, I was surprised they didn’t provide more education on walking, supply her with a harness, etc, but I digress. When the dog got off the leash, he ran and my friend was unable to get him on her own. She contacted the rescue within 30 minutes of him being missing.
They came within an hour and a half of her contacting them. Two of them were assisting the search. They spotted the dog TWICE but did not go after him and promptly left because they wanted to change their shoes and had to pick up another dog, with darkness approaching. Two hours later they come back to the area and of course could not find the dog. At this point it is dark and raining, the group of now four from the rescue are searching and my friend is too... they decide to turn in for the night but neglect to tell my friend and leave her out in the cold rain alone. Dog is still missing.
The rescue coordinator sends my friend a missing dog poster she made—-the picture used is a different dog than the one missing.
They never posted about this dog on their Facebook page or anywhere on social media.
I live in Chicago and was the one who made a pawboost alert to be shared on lost dogs of fort worth.
Luckily the dog was found the next day at an area shelter, however I am extremely shocked with how this entire situation was handled, from leaving the dog after spotting him, to sharing the wrong dog’s picture on the poster, to not posting anything on social media to look for this dog.
There was also extremely poor communication with my friend, the dog’s foster. She was an absolute wreck the entire time, and the rescue “forgot” to tell her when they found the dog at the shelter.
I got my Zoey( known as zozo) here. She was abused, skinny( 32 lbs lab mix) , scared then abandon to a shelter becuase they didnt want her anymore.then she was set to be killed at the age of 3.Mutts organization got the call to save her and despite having nomore room, no more fosters they saved her.. And she picked me to be her new owner. I thank teresa and crystal everyday for this beautiful now 70lbs lap dog. The rescues like this one and others do a job that if people werent so cruel or selfish wouldnt need to be done. But sadly it does and i will cetrianly donate and always get my pets from here . the rescue jobs are often thankless and a constant struggle. Again thankful for all those who do it.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I paid to have my cat spayed, shots, and microchipped. It was supposed to have been done before I picked her up 2 weeks later. The day I was scheduled to pick her up, I called multiple times before getting a response via text message that my cat was with a foster owner. I had no idea what was going on until the foster owner called me. Once I picked up my cat, I was then told that none of it had been done and that I would need to contact the owner, Teresa. I would never get a response back from the manager Teresa. Thankfully I had contact info for the person who fostered their cats. It took 3 months. Teresa only tried to schedule my cat to go to the vet once before today. She told me the day before and my cat needed to be picked up by 4:30pm. It wasn't enough notice to take off from work. After weeks of no response directly with Teresa and only the foster owner, it was finally scheduled for tomorrow and I took time off from work to be able to take my cat in. Then she texts me and tells me it was scheduled for the wrong day and in Rockwall... Over an hour away. She agreed to take my cat to the vet and bring her back to me at work when I got off. She got to my work before I got off and then left before 5 o'clock. They told me my cat was girl and I just assumed she was. Today I was told by the ver that my cat is a boy. Her and her coworker, Tracy, proceeded to treat me like I was a bad person for not knowing he was a boy and not being able to come until 5 pm even though they agreed to bring him to my job at 5pm. They proceeded to yell at me and say how dare I expect my cat to sit in a hot car with them at my job for 5 minutes. But it was okay for them to start driving to Joshua, TX in their car with my cat. I had to go to them. They listed their contact information for the microchip and they picked the boy name for my cat to be listed on all of his information. I have never in my life been treated so poorly and disrespectfully by a business. This organization is very unorganized, unethical, has poor communication skills, and is extrememly unprofessional.
