My brother and I came to Mountain Mission School as adolescents. We were products of a broken family - a deceased father and an alcoholic mother. Relatives tried to assist, but their large family couldn't stand the additional strain and after a year with them we were introduced to MMS. We needed structure and boundaries in our lives at that time and the school provided both, as well as a great educational experience and an exposure to Biblical truths that have helped to keep us on the straight and narrow as adults. I am most grateful for the care the faculty at MMS provided to me and my brother during these impressionable years and for the added benefit of introducing me to my 38-year soulmate who graduated from the school with me. My experience at MMS wasn't perfect, but I don't think perfect parenting is possible or even necessary. My two daughters taught me that. And the school's shortcomings provided valuable learning experiences as well.
