Causes: Human Services, Residential Care & Adult Day Programs
Mission: Since 1878, mhy family services (mars home for youth) has been evolving to meet the needs of at-risk youth and families. Today, mhy family services promotes the safety, health, education and spiritual well-being of youth and families. Our residential, community and educational services use trauma informed principals to help youth ages 9-18 and their families, as well as adults, heal and cope with psychological, social and behavioral health issues.
Programs: Mhy family services residential programs include group home, residential treatment and diversion and acute stabilization. Two of the programs, residential treatment and diversion and acute stabilization, serve youth with various behavioral health issues. Youth are typically admitted to the program by their family and work to return to their family with improved symptom management and coping skills. Youth in our group home are unable to live in a family situation for a variety of reasons. Sometimes youth return to live with family and sometimes they are discharged from our program to independent living programs. In all of our residential programs, youth receive individualized services and/or treatment based on their strengths and needs and rooted in trauma informed principles. In addition to individual, family and group therapy, youth have opportunities for spiritual development, socialization, recreation and education. Many youth have the opportunity to be engaged in providing community services whether for education, personal development or as required in their service plan. During this fiscal year, 237 youth were served.
