Mission: 1) to perpetuate the medal of honor's legacy of courage, sacrifice, and selfless service through outreach and collaborative efforts. 2) to raise funds for: initiatives that promote what the medal of honor represents; operation of the congressional medal of honor society of the united states of america; and the public outreach activities of the society's exclusive membership. 3) to promote the ideals of courage, sacrifice and selfless service through increased awareness, education, behavior and example, and emphasize their application in daily life.

The foundation placed more than 53,400 copies of its new york times best selling book along with an educational outline and discussion questions in public and private middle and junior and senior high schools in every state. Very positive feedback has been received from principals across the country.
creation of medal of honor vignettes with the stories of medal of honor recipients told in their own words, intended to enhance awareness of what the medal of honor represents. These stories have been placed in kiosks that are being distributed to museums and like institutions across the country. Select stories are already being played at the smithsonian national museum of american history and the national air and space museum.
