I originally connected with MKM as a teacher. One of my students needed help with hwk and through some research I found KaracterKeys, MasterKey's afterschool program. While communicating with the director about my student, we developed a relationship and she invited me to be part of the board. Since then, MKM has grown tremendously. There are several "branches" that reach out the community in an effort to provide the "keys" to important doors such as education, nutrition and spiritual growth. Additionally, building relationships is at the core of MKM. Every MKM volunteer has a heart for service and thus sacrifically gives of him/herself.

We focus on the low-income and immigrant populations in our community, offering educational support for children, english proficiency for adults and food assistance for all families in need.

food program serves the community by receiving and distributing food included in income and expenses worth 456,832. 00 (donated and distributed) with and $20,637 direct expenses for freight and provide education and nutrition to at risk children and needy families. Total cash donations were $32,997
adult education was developed to address adult educational challenges with ged, english and is funded by tuition fees and grants.
summer learning program provides education with projects and field trips. This makes learning fun because they have an activity combined with skills, and interactive learning increases retention. Field trips to area refuge and museums teaches: science, habitat preservation, and english names for animals and insects.
